At FIREFLY, we offer a variety of mental health services for children and youth with emotional, behavioural, or mental health challenges. Our programs and services can be done one-on-one or in group settings. We also offer a number of programs, resources and support to parents and caregivers of children struggling with their mental health recognizing that a family approach can in certain cases be the key to a successful journey to better mental health.

FIREFLY recognizes that children and youth diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder often experience mental health challenges such as social anxiety, isolation, depression. Through our new Core Clinical Services – Mental Health, we’re offering individual counselling sessions specifically for children registered with the Ontario Autism Program. We also offer two virtual groups on a monthly basis, one for youth with ASD and another for parents/caregivers of children and youth with ASD.
Counselling and Therapy services are for families with children and youth who are experiencing social, emotional, and/or behavioural difficulties. A range of interventions are offered including assessment, individual, group and family counselling, consultation and parent education.
At FIREFLY, we understand that families and caregivers play a vital role in the treatment and planning for children and youth. Our services are designed to strengthen resilience and provide resources and support for caregivers of children and youth with physical or mental health challenges.
These services help understand and support the mental health of kids and teens. They include expert advice for diagnosing problems, finding the right help, and understanding challenges, and require more specialized knowledge than regular assessments.

Stop Now and Plan (SNAP)® teaches children ages 6-11 and their families impulse control, emotion regulation and problem-solving skills – it is proven to help kids stay in school and out of trouble. If you and your child need help making better choices “in-the-moment”, we can help.
The Youth Justice Committee Program offers an alternative to the formal court process for young people in trouble with the law. A restorative justice approach stresses accountability and responsibility. The focus is on repairing the harm and making youth accountable for their actions through meaningful consequences.
Youth Justice Counselling provides mental health assessment and intervention to Youth age 12 to 18th birthday, who are before the court as a result of committing offences under the Youth Criminal Justice Act in the communities of Kenora, Dryden and Sioux Lookout.
The YMHCWP is a mental health diversion program, which is an effective alternative to the court process for youth who have been identified with mental issues.
