Children and youth who have been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) by a qualified professional are eligible for the Ontario Autism Program (OAP). Children receive services and supports until the age of 18.

The disability tax credit (DTC) is a non-refundable tax credit that helps persons with disabilities, or their supporting persons reduce the amount of income tax they may have to pay.
Being eligible for the DTC can also open the door to other government programs such as the child disability benefit.
