SmartStart Hub
FIREFLY is one of Ontario’s 22 SmartStart Hubs in Northwestern Ontario. FIREFLY has enhanced our Centralized Intake to align with the introduction of the SmartStart Hub. As a SmartStart Hub, we are a clear entry point to services for families with concerns about their child’s development and day-to-day functioning. We offer streamlined and coordinated connections to services and supports so families and caregivers feel supported without having to re-tell their stories.
Child Development
Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Early Language Facilitators, Northwestern Ontario FASD Diagnostic Clinic, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Canadian Prenatal and Nutrition Program, and Respite Care.
One Stop Talk
Virtual Walk-In:
One Stop Talk offers children, youth, and their families immediate access to free mental health supports when and how they need them. The program provides single-session counselling support and ensures direct referral to additional services when needed. Services are provided through an integrated network of infant, child and youth mental health agencies across Ontario. Visit onestoptalk.ca
Picky Eaters Workshop
A caregiver education session to support children/youth with picky eating. Learn the common reasons for picky eating and tips and tricks to provide support. There will be an opportunity for questions and answers.
Early ON
Provides information and support on child development and parenting to families with children up to the age of 6 years in Kenora and Sioux Lookout.
Outreach Programs

Mental Health
Counselling and Therapy, Child Development, Community Education and Resources, Family and Caregiver Skills Building, Infant & Child Development Services, SNAP, Psychology and Psychiatry Consultative Services, Treatment Foster Care, Youth Justice Counselling, Youth Mental Health Court Worker Program, and Youth Justice Committee.
