Making Connection for Children and Youth – Dryden

MCCY’s mission is to enhance the lives of children and youth 18 years and under, by providing sponsorship for cultural, leisure, and recreational activities to families facing financial barriers to accessing these activities. The committee is made up of representatives of agencies and community groups who serve children, youth, and their families. MCCY provides financial support to children in the Dryden and surrounding area. 

Financial Guidelines:

Total Family size (adults & Children) – Max household income before taxes 

2 – less than $36,000 

3 – less than $42,000 

4 – less than $50,000 

5 – less than $56,000 

6 – less than $63,000 

7 – less than $70,000 

7+ – less than $70,000 PLUS $7,000 for each additional person 

Important thing to note: 

  • Consideration is given to children/youth who are not currently participating in paid recreation programs. 
  • Funding is for one long-term activity per season. 
  • Consideration for assistance may also be given for short term activities and events. 
  • If a family is not accessing services from one of the agencies below but does fall within the MCCY financial guidelines, they can still apply to one the agencies below.

What happens after I submit my application?

After submitting an application to a referring agency, it will be reviewed by an MCCY representative. If approved, the representative will provide you with a letter. You can then use this letter to register your child with the activity provider. 

History of MCCY:

The Mayor’s Committee for Children & Youth (MCCY) was established in 1998 by the Mayor of the City of Dryden. A universal recreation committee was formed to address financial barriers for children and youth to participate in local recreational activities. Since it’s formation, the committee has helped 8,000 children access cultural and recreational activities in the area. In January 2017, the MCCY changed their name to Making Connections for Children and Youth and is now partnered with FIREFLY
